This special issue of Research in African Literatures focuses on the representation of contemporary migratory movements, diasporic constructions and transcultural subject positions in Hispano-and Catalano-African literatures. The essays and academic articles discuss ‘movements’ in diverse constellations and on different levels (real and/or imaginary) and explore the ambivalent and contradictory positionings of the diasporic subject that oscillates between Europe and Africa continuously re-locating itself in-between cultures.
